Why armpits are the perfect first area
In the Samui heat you sweat, you shave, and the skin under your arms pays for it. Redness, little bumps, dark stubble that's back the next day. Laser treats the hair at the root, so there's nothing left to shave and nothing left to irritate.
Many women tell us their underarms feel softer and look clearer once they stop shaving. It's also a small area, which makes it an easy way to try laser and see how it feels before you decide on anything else.
What a session feels like
You lie back, raise your arms, and Ning or Fon takes care of the rest. Our Diode 810 laser has Sapphire Cooling built into the head, so your skin stays cool while the laser works. Most clients describe it as painless, a light warm tingle at most. An armpit session is over in a few minutes.
We finish with our free hydrating post-care, so your skin goes home calm and comfortable. You can carry on with your day straight away.
How many sessions, and what to do in between
Sessions are planned 3 weeks apart. The more sessions you do, the better it works, and 7 sessions is enough for most people (results vary). After each visit the hair grows back slower, finer and sparser, until there's very little left.
In between, you can shave if you need to, but please don't wax or pluck: the laser needs the root in place to work. On the day itself, come freshly shaved and skip the deodorant. Many clients take a package (buy 3 get 1 free, or buy 5 get 2 free) to keep the rhythm going.

Does armpit laser hurt?
Most clients say no. The Sapphire Cooling head keeps your skin cool with every pulse, so it feels like a quick, warm tingle. If you're nervous, just tell us. We go at your pace and check in with you along the way.
Will my underarms look lighter?
Laser removes hair; it isn't a skin-whitening treatment. But many clients notice their underarms look smoother and clearer once the daily shaving, the stubble shadow and the razor bumps are gone.
Can I wear deodorant after my session?
We suggest leaving it off for the rest of the day so your skin can settle. From the next day you can go back to your usual routine.
Does it work on my hair colour?
Laser looks for the dark colour in the hair, so dark underarm hair responds really well, on every skin type. Very light blond, grey, white or red hair responds poorly. If that sounds like you, message us and we'll give you honest advice before you book.
Is there anyone who should wait?
Please tell us if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, use exfoliating acids, vitamin A (retinoid) products or steroids, have a wound under your arms, had laser or waxing there in the last two weeks, have allergies, or have had surgery. We go through a short health check with you before your first session.
