Lips & chin

Lip and chin laser hair removal on Koh Samui

That shadow on your upper lip. The one stubborn hair on your chin you check in every mirror. You're far from the only one, and you don't have to keep reaching for the tweezers.

Laser treats the hair at the root, so over a course of sessions there's less and less to think about. It's a small area, quick to do, and our studio is private and run by women.

Why laser beats tweezers and threading

Plucking, threading and waxing pull the hair out, and it's back within weeks. Bleaching only hides it. Laser works differently: it targets the root, so the hair grows back slower and finer each time, until most of it stays away.

That means fewer mornings in front of a magnifying mirror, and makeup that sits smoothly. Darker, coarser hairs respond best. If your facial hair is very fine and light, message us first, because laser needs some colour in the hair to do its job.

A gentle session, in private

Your face is personal, and we treat it that way. You lie back in a quiet room with just Ning or Fon. We protect your eyes, then work over the upper lip and chin with the Sapphire Cooling head, which keeps the skin cool with every pulse. Most clients feel only a light warmth, and a lip and chin session takes just a few minutes.

We finish with our free hydrating post-care. A little redness can show for a short while, so many clients come without makeup and put it on later.

How many sessions, and why hair can return

Sessions are planned 3 weeks apart, and 7 sessions is enough for most people (results vary). Facial hair is often influenced by hormones, so a new hair may still appear now and then, even after a full course. If that happens, an occasional top-up session keeps things smooth.

Between sessions you can trim or shave a hair that bothers you, but please avoid plucking, threading and waxing so the laser can find the root next time. A package (buy 3 get 1 free, or buy 5 get 2 free) makes it easy to stay on schedule.

Questions about this area

Is laser on the upper lip painful?

The upper lip is a little more sensitive than most areas, but the Sapphire Cooling head makes a big difference. Most clients describe a quick, warm flick that's over almost before they notice. We can pause whenever you like.

Will it work on fine, light hair?

Laser targets dark pigment, so darker, coarser hairs respond best. Very fine, pale fuzz, and blond, grey, white or red hair, respond poorly. Send us a message and describe your hair, and we'll tell you honestly whether laser is right for you.

Can I wear makeup afterwards?

We suggest giving your skin the rest of the day off. From the next day you can use your normal makeup and skincare again.

I use retinol or acids on my face. Is that a problem?

Please tell us. Exfoliating acids, vitamin A (retinoid) products and steroids make skin more sensitive, so we ask about them on our health form before your first session and advise you on when it's right to start.

Can I do just the lip, or just the chin?

Lips and chin are booked together as one small area, so both are treated in the same short session. If more of your face bothers you, have a look at our full face treatment.
